Fourth Year Anniversary Challenge

Fourth Year Anniversary Challenge

Today is Sunday, May 19th 2019. I reached four years as Bishop of a New England ward for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I would like to thank all those who have carried me through this far. All those who have given their time, energy and talents to keeping the Ward functioning and active. Without your support I would not have made it this far. It has been a challenge to say the least. I know it is not easy being in any leadership position in the Church even for someone who doesn't have the same personal struggles as my unique position, I am not going to get into detail about that right now, I've talked about some of them in previous posts, but one is being of a more liberal mindset in a more conservative Church. I need to find ways to be more true to myself. As Thor Said in EndGame "I'm going to be who I am." I have been letting my hair grow since the beginning of the year.

To commemorate surviving these past four years I cut my hair yesterday.

My Challenge to myself is:

I won’t cut my hair until one of the the following occurs.

  1. I get released
  2. I finish reading the Old Testament. (I just finished the Book of Joel).
  3. I reach 5 years as Bishop. (See how long my hair gets in one year).
  4. Political Institutions are restored to a sense of Normalcy and Checks and Balances
are restored. (Trump is removed from office).
I reserve the right to trim the sides and back to not look too unpresentable.
